Seafarer's Earning Deductions

Does anyone have any experience of this? I will shortly be meeting a prospective client who claims this deduction and would like someone else to do his self assessment return. From what I can see on hmrc.gov.uk, it seems pretty straight forward. Are there any gotchas I should be aware of?
