for exam purposes, is the threshold for VAT registration still 77000 as per text book or is it 79000 as per HMRC, please?

also, why is it different on green light?
I took a test on green light and this is what I had:
A non VAT registered business had taxable sales revenue of £74,000 over the past 12 months. What should it do?

Register for VAT immediately

Explanation of the correct answer:
A business must register for VAT if its sales revenue exceeds £73,000 in the previous 12 months.

If you think there is an error in this question, please quote reference: 187

The reference material is available in the exam, and there are handy links to the relevant sections on the right hand side of each question as you complete them.

So don't stress over which number is right, it takes less than a minute to check during the exam.

Personally I haven't done the green light tests.
