Reduced Rate Subscription

Hello All
If we are completing further studies after AAT, for example ATT, do we qualify to apply for the reduced rate subscription.
Looking at the category list, I was going to apply as I am studying part-time for a qualification relevant to accountancy.
I am a little confused regarding the Conditions and declarations... especially the second paragraph...
From AAT Website
Conditions and declarations *
I will notify AAT immediately if I return to paid part-time or full-time employment (categories unemployed, disability/ill-health, full-time study, raising a family and full-time carer only).
I confirm that any earnings I receive do not exceed £7,000 per year (categories - retired, disability/ill-health, studying on a full-time basis, raising a family and full/part-time work earning less that £7,000) and that it is necessary to re-apply for the reduced subscription on an annual basis (all categories except retired).
Would I be correct in saying that I can only apply for reduced rate if my income from full time working is less than £7,000 per year even if I am studying part-time?
Any help/guidance much appreciated.

Mmm, I was told that so long as I was a full member (ie with the 1 year experience), the only relevant factor was whether I was a member of another accountancy body or not. They didn't mention anything about employment status/pay etc. I didn't have the 1 year experience hence am no longer an AAT member as couldn't justify full AAT and ACCA fees. I don't think you even have to be studying, just a paid up member of another body.
Do they do reduced fees for people on low incomes/back to work schemes etc and you've maybe been sent to the wrong page? The bit about returning to work doesn't sound like the terms for normal reduced membership.0 -
Thanks for your reply NPS.
I was an online application through MyAAT... so I have applied and will await contact from someone at AAT.~ An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest ~Benjamin Franklin0 -
Yes, for us Further Studiers the only relevant factor is whether we are studying another accountancy qualification. The other conditions you have quoted above only apply to the categories mentioned in the brackets afterwards. There are a few different categories you can apply for reduced rate subscription under (all on the same page), ours is just one of them. You don't need to meet the criteria for all the categories, only the one you are applying for.0
