Only 2 weeks now until the ACCA exams and wondering if there are any other folks doing them?

Im doing F6 and F7 which will be my 2/3 exams after passing F4 in December.

Im pretty confident with F6 as i enjoy doing tax stuff but F7 is gonna be a bit iffy. I think if i can get the first 3 done then i should be ok i guess questions 4/5 are a bit pot luck hopefully they'll be some im a bit happier on.

    I'm doing F4, 7 and 8.

I'm ready for F7 (I've really enjoyed it).

I'm more or less ready for F8 (I found this quite dull to learn but I think I'd really enjoy actually doing it in practice. I remember someone once saying that F8 is easy to learn but difficult to pass, I can certainly see what they mean. It all seems so obvious when you read it, but then it's difficult to get all the marks because sometimes I don't write the obvious down as it just seems so, well, obvious!)

I'm running behind with F4 but it should be OK. At least I have a few days after F7 and 8 to really get stuck in to it. Embarrassingly I have a legal/law background so a lot of it is familiar, but I'm not as prepared for it as I wish I was. Real life just got in the way a little bit.

I did F6 in December and also really enjoyed it. I found it quite straightforward apart from one question which threw me (and most others by all accounts). It actually wasn't that difficult but I missed what the question was getting at until about 10mins before the end so had a mad panic to try and redo it. I was kicking myself as I had the knowledge to do it, I just couldn't see what the question was getting at to begin with. I'll probably do the advanced tax paper as one of my options when the time comes.

I am attempting P2 :001_unsure: I feel ok about it, I hope I can manage to get 50%. I'm most confident on the first question - the consolidation question for 50 marks, so I'm hoping to pick up most of my marks there.

As has already been mentioned, it could come down to pot luck as to whether we get "nice" questions or not.

    Good luck everyone :001_smile:

Take a highlighter pen and highlight important bits. You can write all over the question paper.

As soon as you sit down you can start filling out the front page, with all your details. It's one of those computer marked sheets where you colour in the bubbles to correspond to letters or numbers. This bit wasn't explained at all and a lot of us got confused with the official name of the exam centre. I just saw everyone else starting theirs so just got on with it.

Don't expect to hear a word of the invigilators speech at the start - still got no idea what she said. Just assume normal exam rules and you can't go far wrong.

HUGE clocks displayed on overhead projectors to tell you how much time left.

Can't leave before the end and then a mad rush to get out.

Ignore everyone waiting outside the exam beforehand as they try to show off about how much they know!

Be prepared for it being a BIG exam (but lots of empty seats).

Lots of pens, a ruler, and of course a calculator (I even took a spare). Drinks have to have the labels removed. Remember your exam docket and photo id!

The answer sheet is just a book of lined pages, you do the questions in whichever order you like, and fill in another little bubble at the top of each sheet to say what question is on each page.

I had loads of questions before my first one and as a home studier had no one to ask. It was all fine though.
