I have a new client who receives a Rural Payments Agency grant each year for his agricultural land fromDEFRA. Does anyone know if this is a taxable income for the business?

I wouldn't swear to it as it's been several weeks since I last saw one, but I believe it is. A quick flick through HMRC seems to support that: http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/manuals/bimmanual/BIM40455.htm
Link from that page to various specific information, but it looks like it comes down to normal treatment per most other grants: http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/manuals/bimmanual/BIM40451.htm0 -
Thank you. Have read that too now and agree.....taxable.0
