Need to improve my job interview technique

Hi Folks
I've been to loads of job interviews but always seem to fail at this stage.
I'm convinced that I need to improve my interview technique. Could someone be kind enough to suggest how I could do that? Shall I just look at some videos on may be, you tube, in order to improve my technique or go on an official interview training course?
Any advice gratefully appreciated

Hi geek84
There is a lot of content out there on the web for people looking for interview techniques, to the point that it can be difficult to know where to start.
Luckily we have you covered. We've worked with renowned career guru Aimee Bateman (http://careercake.com/) and created some simple but effective YouTube videos that should help you out. Check out the playlist here: http://www.youtube.com/user/AATCareerCoach
We also have some interesting articles at AAT Comment:
How to turn an unsuccessful interview into a positive
How to answer competency based interview questions effectively
Websites like Accountancy Bites are useful as you obviously want advice specific to the accountancy industry. Here's one from earlier in July on what to wear:
http://www.accountingbites.co.uk/2013/07/02/what-to-wear-for-a-finance-job-interview/
And three tips on how to pass your first interview:

We keep an eye on a variety of these sort of external sites because there's always new and useful articles being released. For example, here's one we tweeted about earlier in the week:

In terms of your overall image to recruiters, you may also want to take a look at your digital footprint- is there anything on Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn that may effect your employability? Mashable covered this last year- 12 Things Students Should Never Do on Social Media (that's focused more on high-school students but most of the advice is relevant).
Above all else, stay persistent and positive!I have now left AAT. If you require any assistance with the forums, please contact membership support: https://www.aat.org.uk/contact-us0 -
Hi Christian
Many thanks for your reply. However, I've already been through most of Ann Bateman's videos!!0 -

Sorry, I'm a real pedant about this one. It's "affect" not "effect" here. As we're discussing online content that might affect your chances I felt I had to point it out as it's something that employers may pick up if searching online.0 -

You mean Aimee? :blushing: Another important thing, try to remember peoples names at interviews or could be embarassing.~ An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest ~Benjamin Franklin0 -
Yes, Jo, you're quite right. I mean Aimee.0
