ACCA Results

Good luck to everyone waiting for ACCA results tomorrow!

Apparently ACCA are starting to send the emails out from midnight, is anyone going to risk staying up and hoping they don't take too long? Last results day my email didn't arrive till 9am, even though they were supposed to be sent from 5am, so I don't think I'll risk staying up tonight and having to wait till nearer 4am than midnight! (Although last time was the first time my email hadn't arrived by the time I got up.) Getting them first thing in the morning has suited me up to now, so I'll carry on with that for now I think.

Definitely not going to try staying up - I'd end up getting no sleep at all! Quite glad they are releasing from midnight though as I was planning on checking my emails before going to work and was really hoping the results would be there (leave the house at half seven). This gives another 5 hours for them to come through. I was worried they wouldn't be there before I left and then I'd have to keep checking at work (eek).

    Fingers crossed for everyone!

I did plan to stay up but my girls kept me up last night so not sure I'll be able to (but will I be able to sleep anyway!). Though apparently they leaked the results AGAIN on Saturday night but they'd fix the leak before I managed to log on (I was lucky last time and logged on just before they fixed it). Wonder if they have the same problem every year as the timing was almost identical???

    Good luck everyone!

Good Luck everyone, hope you all get the results you are wishing for.

I probably won't sleep until the result comes through. Been dreaming about a 64% pass, fingers crossed

I dreamt I got 32% in F4, 51% in F7 and 52% in F8. Very specific! I'm hoping my dream was wrong! I'm off to bed now as I'm shattered, wonder if I'll still be tossing and turning at midnight.....

I passed F6 with 91% and F7 with 80%. Had to read the email three times just to make sure as I was just hoping to scrape a pass for F7, not do well in it!

So, so chuffed. Am spending the day with a big goofy grin on my face!

    F4 - 82%
    F7 - 80% (Jenny, snap!)
    F8 - 85%

Very happy! And I started my first accounting job this week so can start doing my PER's and my 3 years experience, so a good week all round.

    Well done everyone.

Wow well done to you both for your excellent scores - I scored 67% in P2 which I'm really pleased with.

Fantastic Nps1976! They're great results - a lot better than your dream ones!!! And three at the same time is amazing, I definitely couldn't have coped with three.

Rozzi, that's also fab for P2 - the P level is so much harder - you must be really chuffed.

Looks like we all did well in this sitting, yeah us.

Congratulations to everyone who has passed an ACCA paper at this diet. Passing any ACCA paper is a major achievement requiring lots of hard work and dedication, well done to all of you. For those who did not get the results you hoped for, remember that the exams are passable and ACCA is a long distance event not a sprint, just treat it as a rehearsal for the main event.

Jenny3549, I note that you are located in Swansea, do you, or have you ever considered coming along to any of the regional members events? They are intended to be for both members and students and are a good way of finding out a bit about the latest hot topics as well as a good networking opportunity. I am the Deputy Chair this year for the Swansea and West Wales Panel, so I make no apologies for the blatent advertisement of our events, our Autumn events are:
24 Sept - IFRS developments, career planning and online profiles - Sketty Hall, Swansea (Free event)
22 Oct - Corporate Tax Update - Halliwell, Trinity College, Carmarthen (Free event)
21 Nov - Tour and Tasting - Tomas Watkins Brewery, Swansea (Β£12)
28 Nov - ACCA Cymru Conference and Dinner - St Davids Hotel and Spa, Cardiff (various packages with costs to be announced)

Also the Wales Public Sector Group are hosting a joint event with CIPS open to members and students with relevance to both public and private sector, exploring how to support SME's and local economies while achieving savings through the procurement function (two speakers, one from a Finance point of view and one from a Procurement point of view). A free event at the Vale Hotel, Hensol on 30 Sept.

All apart from the conference start at 17:30 for 18:00, and finish at 20:00. If you need more details please let me know or visit the ACCA Cymru site. I do hope that any ACCA students/members in the area will come along to some of the events, and if you do please introduce youself to the any panel members present.

    Hi Steve,

Actually, knowing you are involved would probably make me more likely to attend, being rather a fan of your posts on this forum! (Ooh, just realised that may sound a bit creepy/stalkerish?).

I haven't really been aware of many events up til now but shall make a note of the next one and give it a go - Sketty Hall isn't far from me.

It will certainly make a difference to have local events - makes a change from getting invites from my 'local' AAT branch in Wolverhampton!

Was so convinced I was going to fail F6, I was planning my revision for December! Passed with 61%!! It is certainly a boost to your motivation passing.

Finding it really hard working full time, studying and entertaining three boys but it will all be worth it. On to Financial management and Audit woohoo
