HI

I am going to see my friends tomorrow. They used to be partners in business but then they set a ltd company last year.
Any way the old business Y/E was 30 June 2003 (ceased) but the company P/E they got is 31 DEC 2003 (first accounts).

Now the problem is that they did not know that the y/e has changed and did the SAGE Y/E like usual ie 30 June 2004 also for the company and now they have to prepare accounts only for the first SIX months (until 31-12-03)

I know how to get the first 6 months info for the Company account from the Y/E 30-6-04 backups. But what is the proper procedure to change the Y/E date to 31/12 without any complications.

(that would be puting toghather the first 6 six of this year to the rest. Which they are already oprating at the moment. And the Y/E in SAGE is 30-6-05 which should be 31-12-04)

I hope I made it clear.

Thanks for reading

MahaRaj
Changing Year End in SAGE Line

    Hello.

I don't think it matters on Sage when your year end is, as you have to specify that when you first install Sage.

However if they are using the same Sage for the new company on their computers as the old company, I would have (originally) suggested that they open on Sage a New Company. This way it deals with them as separate entities.

But as i said originally, you can tell Sage that your year end is 18th Feb if that's what you want! (that's only an example, nothing special about 18/2!!)

Hope that's sufficient....probably not!

Helen x
Thanks Helen

I am not sure if I made the real issue clear in th equestion.
T
he Issue was joining 2 periods from different Year Ends.
Anyway Everything went well as I am going to make two reports for each 6 month period and add them up manually. And then change the year end date now.

Thanks
