Hi Joe

I too study Monday and Wednesday evenings, as well as working from 7.30 til 5pm every day ,5 days a week, running a house, caring for a 16 year old teenager and a husband!!

Yes it is a "ball ache", all I keep telling myself is that WHEN I get through all of this, I will at least be a better qualified individual and perhaps even be able to state the hours I want to work and when!! As opposed to being told the hours to work and when!!

Keep thinking positive thoughts!! You are definitely not alone!!!!

Littledoe

OK you ready for this. Work full time (in the Army with the slight chance of being sent to Iraq/Bosnia/Kosovo/Afghanistan with 14 days notice to move). I'm a fibre optic LAN Instructor.

Have 6 kids aged between 19 and 3 months (one of them disabled to boot).

I'm a football fanatic which rules out any study when the great Celtic are playing Champs League matches.

Study well, Monday nights, Tuesday I go to college in the afternoon/evening, Wednesday is night off if football on, otherwise it's study. Thursday study, Friday is pub night and finally Saturday night or SUnday night is study as well (but not both).

Hope I make you all feel better - bad, mad or sad.

Actually I love it all !!

Regards, Mick and see ya Friday for a drink :-)

It's nice to know there are lots of us all in the same boat. Or in some cases worst. I don't have a husband to look after like you Littledoe and I don't have six kids to look after like you Mick but yes I generally believe it 'WILL' not 'has' J, 'WILL' be worth it all in the end. Thankfully I actually enjoy studying AAT so I believe I must be on the right course. The only thing I feel quilty about is not spending enough time with my partner. How's everybody feel they are doing so far? I feel everything is going ok so far. I hope that feeling stays.

Take care, study hard if not go for drink on Friday with Mick :)

    Hi
I too work full time and study on monday and wednesday evenings, straight from work ( not time to eat first). I also have kids, a husband & a home and all the joys that come with that. I am finding the course very fast paced, the homework a nightmare to fit in and am really struggleing, so much so that I am thinking of pulling out of the exam in december and not sitting it until June.

    Hi terija

I think you really need to be expressing your concerns with one of your tutors. Its hard to tell whether or not someone is really struggling as you say or whether they just lack confidence in themselves. Having a chat with a tutor with most certainly benefit you. They will either boost your confidence or advise you on the best way forward. Have you started AAT at intermediate or have you done foundation AAT? I'm fortunate that I do not have any exams until June 05. When did you start Intermediate? How come you have an exam in December? I know you are not alone. Others have mentioned having an exam in December. I was just wondering how that worked? Last year I studied AAT foundation. Started in September and had the exam in June. This year is the same. Started intermediate in September and both my exams are in June again.

Hope you manage to find a way forward.

Joe

Thanks for your advice joe. I will have a chat with my tutors after half term. I started the intermediate course on sept 27th. I don't know why the FRA exams is so soon after the start of the course. I wish i wasn't!! I did not do the foundation course I came staight into the intermediate after having done Pitmans bookkeeping level 1and 2.

I am going away for a few days to chill out and forget about everything, as i have got some time off work. Maybe things won't look quite so bleak when i get back

I am currently studying Tuesday & Thursday evenings and find it hard going with two girls under 6 running a house and helping my husband run his business.

I also work during the day doing my own job. It is a struggle to juggle work, college, kids, husband and his business but I have learned that I have to organise myself.

But I do find that sometimes when doing homework at 11pm at night I find it hard to concentrate but unfortunately I can only do it when the children are in bed. Without the support of my husband telling me look at what I will get out of it at the end is the only thing that keeps me going.

If anybody got any other Ideas I would appreciate them.
