Hi

I am having difficulty with question 13.2 ( workbook. Financial Records & accounts, OSBOURNE Book written by David Cox)

The part of the question i am having trouble with begins with: Some customers pay by cheque......

And ends with At 31st December she had a cash float of £125.

Somehow my tutor has arrived at a cash debtors figure of £3870 and a drawings figure of £3611.

I have absolutely no idea how these figures were reached. Is there anyone who can explain this to me.

Also on that same question I cannot remember which figures of the deprecation go into which of the depreciation accounts (dep'n' of the prov for dep'n'). Has anyone got any statagies on the best way to remember this.

Any clues to any of the above will be very much appreciated.

Teri :-)

The debtors figure is obtained by
opening balance £4120
Sales £61450
Less
Bank receipts £55290
Bad Debts £460
Closing Balance £5950
Making the difference as cash receipts £3870

Using the £3870 with the opening balance of £86 on the cash account
along with the given general expenses of £220
leaves a balance of £3611 which has been posted as drawings

Hope that helps, its kinda hard to show you the full workings.0 -
