Shares in FA1985 Pool

Is it just me? I seem to be getting myself into knots trying to make sense of the FA1985 pool, can anyone explain to me how I do it in plain English?<BR>I would be grateful for any explanations. Ta

    Shares in FA1985 Pool

    This pool was created under the Finance Act 1985<BR><BR>It contains all shares bought between 5 April 1982 and 6 April 1998<BR><BR>Indexation needs to be applied for the share pool - each time a purchase was made and also on 6 April 1998 even if no purchases were made as taper relief applies after 1998.<BR><BR>When indexing up in the share pool the answer you get after dividing the index prices needs to be rounded to 3 decimal places - shares are the only ones which are rounded. (I think that's right)<BR><BR>The share pool shows number of shares, cost of shares and also indexed cost of shares.<BR><BR>Hope this is of help <BR>Helen
