Accounting software reccomendations

Hi All ,
I'm just wondering what software people would recommend using.
I've just started up and at present I'm using excel spread sheets to do all my work but I think I need to start looking at software packages as my client base is growing and I want to make the transition sooner rather than later.
I'm sure that there are lots of factors to consider when choosing the best one but as a rough guide most of my clients are sole traders dealing with cash transactions and a couple of small limited companies.
Price is also a factor as, because I've just started I haven't got much money to spend yet!
Any help would be great as I've no idea where to start!
Thanks

Again we use VT Transaction + for data entry. We then enter the TB from this into our accounts software (Keytime) which has built in tax software. We then have some clients using Clearbooks themselves.Regards,

Thats great. I'd heard mentions of VT on here and it does sounds like the ideal solution for me. Thanks everyone!

I've used VT but Taxcalc for me offers what Iris does at a much lower costs and provides a free PM solution
