Joining the Flat rate vat scheme

Good evening :)

Client is going to join the flat rate vat scheme - not experienced this personally before. Am I right in thinking you submit the vat1 form and the flat rate form?

    You get a much quicker response if you apply online. Log in to your HMRC then click register for HMRC taxes, choose register for HMRC Taxes again. Then follow through the system and register for VAT. You can add an application for the flat rate scheme during this process. You should get a VAT number within around 7 days from my experience.
