MIP Licence Criteria

Hi
I have just applied to be registered on the MIP scheme but I don't think I am eligible to apply direct for a licence as I have no 'practice management experience'. I have been in business (part time) for 2 years, offering my services for free to family and friends but I am unsure as to if this counts as the experience needed as I didn't do things officially such as hand out engagement letters etc.
Can anybody please advise?
Thanks
