Self employed income for mortgage application

My client needs a certain income in order to get a mortgage. He can achieve this if he does not declare any expenses against his gross income. Should I explain why there are no expenses on his tax return ?

This may be an irresponsible thing to do. Mortgage repayments can only be paid out of net profit, not turnover so your client may end up struggling to make his repayments if you lie about his true profits to the mortgage company. And no, if for whatever reason you decide that that's the right thing to do, I don't think that you should declare it on the tax return.0

Agree with Jodie here, cannot assist in a false mortgage application and if you do hope you have another job lined up!0
