Hi,
I was just wondering if any other mad fools on here are currently studying for their CTA?
I have just passed the Individuals Advisory paper and will sit Awareness in November with OMB advisory and application next May.
For anyone out there thinking about it, it is a HUGE step up from ATT but worthwhile and your tax knowledge steps up immensely.

Congratulations!! Well done that's fab!!
I am thinking about starting it next year, so sitting in May and Nov 15. I might try to get a hold of some old books to see what the content is like beforehand. If you know of anyone not needing theirs anymore then let me know!
Good luck for Nov.

Hi, I'm also studying CTA, I'm taking Advisory Individuals and Advisory Owner Managed Businesses in November. These are the only two I have left to do. I did ACCA before this, but I am finding CTA a lot more relevant and enjoyable (as much as studying can be!).
Becca, I have quite a few materials from Tolleys, a lot of it in pdf format so would be happy to email it to you. If you can message me your email address I'll send what I've got over.

Hi Tracey,
That would be great. I tried sending a PM but it doesn't work. So if you send me an email to an old address I will send you my new one from there.
Thanks very much.

Hi Tracy, I've sent an email too! I'm looking at doing CTA too but I'm a bit worried about the step up from ATT...0

Hi Sarah, It is a step up, by my reckoning you need twice as much information in an answer to get the same marks ATT, but I would say only 40% of the course is new if you have done ATT... So you will have a good base to start with. It does take a lot of time, I would say 15 hours a week is desirable....0

In the absence of the ATT group:
My materials arrived in the office while I was away at the end of last week!!! Two MASSIVE boxes came!
One has the legislation in it and the other has ADV IND and AW CT-VAT-IHT! Exciting!!!!

As above- I am doing two exams in May (well if all goes to plan!), has anybody got any advice as to the order in which to study them? Ie. AW first then ADV, or mix it up?! etcBeccaLouJ9 said:In the absence of the ATT group:

I have got ALOT of time if I start studying this year so that should be a good thing!?
I can put in a weekend day and at least 3 evenings of at least 3 hours each week. And when it gets closer obviously I can do more. So which one should I start with?
Any tips/ideas/gems of wisdom for me?
