Partial Exempt VAT

Wonder if anyone can help. I started work for a charity that is partial exempt. When we buy groceries for lunch during meetings, how would the VAT be treated? Would it be according to the item i.e. zero or standard rated, or would VAT be treated differently due to us being partial exempt?
Thanks for replies.
