Tax adviser looking to change direction

Hi all

For the last 10 out of 15 years I have worked as a tax adviser in practice (ATT/CTA) I enjoy my work but decided a while ago that I don't want to spend the rest of my career advising on tax issues in practice. I would like to move into an in-house role and deal with wider issues of financial management, having spent the early years of my career dealing with accounts prep and management accounts etc. the firm where I did this work restructured the department and I was moved into audit which I didn't get on with at all (and which led me down the tax path!). I wondered if anyone on here has been in a similar position and what steps they have taken to make changes. Thank you.
