Hello All
A Self employed person purchased a new van with no stereo, what are your thoughts could the stereo be a tax deductible expense?

I think it would fail the "wholly & exclusively for the business" test.0

But if it had been purchased with a stereo you wouldn't adjust this, would you? I would allow.0

I'd add it to the capital cost of the vehicle, especially if the owner were a fan of the Dave Matthews Band. However, if any of the music played on that stereo had anything to do with Simon Cowell, I'd write off the whole lot in year one . . .0

I'd allow personally as most vehicles would have one.Regards,
