Hi everyone, I'm kind of confused with exemptions for ACCA. How many exemptions are there?
I study and live in Botswana(small, beautiful country in Africa). Last year I didn't manage to complete Level 4 for AAT and now I have to re-sit the whole of Level 4 even if I passed some of the modules. I wanna start with ACCA on August 2015 as our government offers FREE....yes FREE sponsorship for any course one wishes to do. So is it worth finishing AAT Level 4 or I may just go on ahead with starting ACCA?
Ke a leboga (With thanks)

If you are planning to do ACCA anyway then it's probably a good plan to progress with that and use the knowledge gained at AAT L4 for the corresponding ACCA exams. I'm currently studying Financial Statements from AAT alongside ACCA F3 - it appears to be practically the same content so far but I haven't yet come to exam technique and how they differ. ACCA F2 corresponds to both Budgeting and Financial Performance from AAT. ACCA F1 is more wordy, it's about organisational structure, management and personal development etc rather than accountancy skills. If you've done the tax modules for AAT you will find the knowledge helpful for the later tax paper for ACCA.
ACCA appears to be well recognised across the world but I'm less familiar with how well known AAT is globally. The lectures on opentuition.com are helpful in understanding the level of knowledge required for ACCA, it's for people without prior knowledge but it gets complex pretty quickly so your AAT study will be really helpful.0
