Personal Tax Paper

Hello,

I have my personal tax exam next Thursday.
Wondered if anyone had found extra questions/papers online? I have done all the questions in my Osbourne books and on the AAT website but feel I need more.

I find the BPP question papers good or the osbourne tutor zone papers.
Thanks

Hi Rosie, I will be sitting this paper next week. Please can you provide any information about the exam. Was it similar to the practise papers online. If not please can you point out any differences, in layout or questions?

I look forward to hearing from you due in course.

    Hi,

I found the paper to be different to the practice paper online only because I think the practice one is very basic.
The first question was pretty much the same.

I had a few questions about tax free benefits and company benefits.
The shares question was the same.
The written question asked me about payments on account.

The only guidance I would give is too look out for personal allowances that may trip you up. The way the question is worded seemed like the PA should be changed but then it asks you in part b what the PA would be if the person was born in a different year.

    Good Luck!!

So what your trying to say is that make sure, I know the personal allowance rates ?
Are you talking about Task 2 tax free benefits and company benefits ?
Was the layout similar to the AAT mock exam?
Overall how did you find the exam?

Sorry for the questions, it's just I want to know what i'm getting into ?

    Hi Hasan,

Yes, for example the age allowances and then high-earners etc.
Task two was tax free benefits and company benefits. I think I had one small question on if a person works away from home and their allowances.

The layout was what I expected however I found Personal Tax a very broad unit.

Hi Rosie, i've just sat the personal tax paper. The layout was different, however i believe i've done ok probabl just over the 70% pass rate. The wording is quite difficult to understand at time, but you have to read the question over and over again, like, XX had capital gains of £40000 after the annual exempt amount what is the CGT

    Hi Hasan,

Yes I think I would have just scraped the pass mark!
I think the wording does throw you - many people have said the same thing.
My tutor did complain to AAT at the AAT conference about the Personal Tax Paper being to hard to understand on some questions. From what he said a lot of people had the same.

Hope you do pass - personal tax isn't fun!!
