Hi! I have a client who wants to claim vat for clothing. She appears on the news, gives talks & discussions etc so says she can claim for her appearance.
Is this correct?

Clothing is not normally a claimable expense so I would not claim VAT on them either. HMRC allows claim for uniforms, protective clothing and costumes but general clothing is specifically disallowed (see case Mallalieu v Drummond).
Edit: you may want to have your post moved to MAAT or MIP forums ( @StuartW ?)0
