Stuart,
Could we add a sticky or something encouraging people to use the Search function for questions before posting?
I ask as there are several questions which appear time and time again, which get fewer and fewer responses each time; it's not that people don't want to help, but they just can't be bothered to answer the same question every 3 weeks. However at the same time we don't want to discourage the new members who come here looking for advice.
Topics that spring to mind recently are the various variances for Financial Performance, and how to get started in ICAS projects.
Various other forums will openly flame new users for not searching before asking common questions, which isn't necessarily productive, but perhaps some guidance to look at older threads would encourage new users who aren't getting responses simply because their questions have already been done to death.

@CeeJaySix Good suggestion. Do you think one for each student section would make sense? A 'read this if you're new here'-style sticky thread?
Thanks

Yep I guess that would probably be the most effective way of grabbing most people's attention.0

OK, we've put one up in the 'General' student section and will add to the other student sections over the rest of the week so as not to flood the recent discussions.
On a somewhat related note - do you think a separate 'welcome' -style category might be useful in the student section? It could be a place to advise on how to get the best out of the forums as well as point towards useful resources for different units, work experience, webinars/CPD.
Views from any and all folk welcome!
Thanks
