AAT accountants signing of mortgage references

I have recently come across a mortgage company 'Godiva Mortgages part of the Coventry Building Society' that do not accept AAT members as being able to sign an accountants mortgage reference. I always thought the AAT membership was as widely accepted as other memberships such as ATT or Chartered etc.
What's that all about?

Hi @osb2403,
I've done some investigation on this.
The majority of banks & building societies recognise MIPs when it comes to mortgage references.

The Coventry Building Society is one of the lenders about whom we occasionally receive complaints, because they are one of the minority who don't.
We'd encourage you to email mortgage-lenders@aat.org.uk with details, as we can add these to any efforts AAT makes to encourage such lenders to update their policies.
Thanks,
Stuart
