Conflict of interest? Preparing accounts for family members.

As MIPs are we allowed to prepare accounts for family members? Just wondering.

    Been there done that. It can work but you need to treat them like any other clients. If you treat them preferably at all they will expect everything to be preferable. Now I try and keep family and work seperate.

    I agree with the above comments. My missus owns a cake shop and at the beginning I agreed to help do the books. However, there was no happy ending there, as you may have guessed. Just to get her to hand-in her paperwork was a nightmare! In the end, I had to disengaged her :) and told her to find herself another agent, less headache that way.

    Therefore now, I do the same as Burg above 'keep family and work separate'
