Hi.
I need some advise please.
My husband is in the process of changing from a sole trader to a limited company. He is running the 2 alongside each other until the end of his fiancial year in May. We have confirmation from companies house and we have registered for the we filing service.
My questions are regarding CT and vat.
1- Will CH automatically sort out the CT or do I register with HMRC
2- Is it a good idea to keep the same VAT Number?
Many thanks
Anna

Hi
1. Companies House will inform HMRC which will then send you a letter with your UTR which you will need to register on line for CT
See here https://www.gov.uk/limited-company-formation/set-up-your-company-for-corporation-tax
2. It depends on the history of the sole trader as when transferring the same VAT number the new company could be liable to any VAT defaults the sole trader made in the last 3 years.0
