ACA Technical work experience (TWE)

Hi,
I currently work in the accounts payable department of a law firm and I'm looking at what qualification I want to do next (I'm fully AAT qualified).
Looking at ACA & ACCA, although I'm unsure as to whether I can gain enough TWE in my current role to fully complete the ACA.
I've tried contacting the ICAEW but they are extremely slowly at responding, but from looking online ( http://www.icaew.com/~/media/corporate/files/qualifications and programmes/aca/aca employers/aca training/technical work experience categories.ashx ) it seems as if the only TWE category I would fall into is "accounting" but I do not get much exposure to the examples listed, as I'm mainly am involved in invoice processing, bank reconciliations and the bookkeeping of client account.
So has anyone heard/had experience of AP roles being sufficient to qualify for TWE for the ACA?
Many thanks
Mike

TWE can only be gained at ICAEW authorised training employers (unless something's changed fairly recently that I'm not aware of)...so the first question you need to ask is whether your firm is one.
I think you would struggle to gain the required experience in your current role from looking at the link provided. Is there any scope for advancement whilst you're studying so you could get involved in monthly management accounts, preparing year-end statutory accounts, budgeting/forecasting etc?

Yes, but that requirement can be fulfilled by an authorised person as well now or so I'm told.
But yeah I agree I doubt I'm going to get enough experience in my current role, unfortunately all the roles/more senior jobs discussed take place in another office.
I'll guess I'll go down the ACCA route!
Thanks

If you are not likely to gain the necessary experience for the ACA qualification in your current role, I'm afraid you won't gain the necessary experience for ACCA either.0

Although in both cases worth noting that doesn't stop you sitting the exams, it just stops you qualifying until you do gain the required work experience.1
