Morning everyone
is there anyone that can help me. Can anyone tell me where to start to investigate why there is a difference between my bank balance in the cash book and the bank balance in the TB? Allowing for all of the usual unreconciled items etc, I can't find why or begin to know where to look

Thanks

You don't say whether this is a manual cash book or an intergrated system eg sage.
If your using an intergrated system then try having a look through your bank nominal for any unusual postings such as adjustments or journals.

When was the last bank rec done that agreed?

Is the difference a round-figure sum that should be obvious on either the bank statements or in the cashbook (assuming the difference is simply a single additional/omitted transaction)?

Does the difference you have divide by 9? If so could well be a transposition error.
