Claiming mileage allowance

If someone works for the same company as a self-employed person can they claim the mileage allowance to work and back?

It depends. How often do they work there? How long have/will they work(ed) there for? Do they work anywhere else?

They just worked at the same company for about 4 months and it was the only work and now are employed again under PAYE
