Charging for renting a desk and machine time
Hi All!
I work in a small mailing house and we have been approached by someone who would like to rent some desk space and also some machine time using our big laser printer - any ideas about how to go about this?
Not sure how to calculate the actual cost as the machine is fully owned by the company.
Any help gratefully received.

Is the machine used for commercial use and if so do you have a costing per print.
Rent desk space I think you have two options:-
1) Calculate a cost per floor space taking into account any utilities the individual will use ie. rent/rates/heating/bband etc. Then calculate a rate per office space before calculating a the desk space to give you a rental cost
OR
2) Pull a figure out of the air and negociate with the individual until you reach a compromise rental amount. I would firstly look around the local area for the cost of office facilities etc as this may give you a rough guide.

I think the figure out of the air and negotiate route is the way we will go! Just wondered whether there was a "proper" way of doing it!0
