Does anyone know why the number of resits is going to be limited to one resit for each exam? What is the reason for limiting it? Surely if I am paying to do the resit I should be able to do so? Also, why doesn't it affect Scottish AAT students?

I think the new rules only apply to students aged 16 to 19 in England, can still resit I think once in every 2 years, so not a total stop!
The reason, AAT have registered their Accounting Qualification (AQ) 2016 courses with the Department of Education so that they appear in the key stage 5 performance league tables.
The rules on resits are imposed by the Department of Education. So if you are taking the 2016 courses outside the Department of Education jurisdiction (eg outside the UK, or in Scotland (need to check Wales)) the new resit rules do not apply.5
