Hi And,
I have been awful on y written questions throughout level 4. I have taken all exams on level 4 now. I am currently awaiting my results of financial statements and I need to resit BTAX after one attempt but all the others were passed first time. So based on my experience, no you do not have to be great on the written sections but still allow yourself enough time to structure your answers and THINK ABOVE WHAT YOU ARE BEING ASKED (sorry for the caps but this really is important). So many times in practice assessments I thought I was answering the question correctly but I just had not understood what I was being asked.
I hope this helps you and good luck!!!5
