Short amount of time work experience on CV?

Hi, I just wanted to ask that if you have no experience in any job at all and you go work at an accountancy firm for a week through college, is this enough to put on a CV under 'work experience'? Also can you use that accountancy firm as a reference?
The reason I ask is that I am sending my CV attached with an email to an accounting firm in the Oldham area and I had doubts about whether to include the one week work experience on my CV.
Thank you,
Bob

I would definitely include this on your CV, while it is only a week's experience it is still experience and you can list the tasks you undertook while you were there. I would also include any other work experience you have, accounting or not - and try to show how it is relevant to the role you're applying for.
Whether or not you can include them as a reference - well you would have to ask them if they would be prepared to give you a reference. If you made a good impression during your week with them then they are likely to agree, but you shouldn't really list someone as a reference without asking them first. It is poor business etiquette to assume.
You should also ask your college tutors if they are prepared to give you a reference, while not work related they will be able to provide a reference based on your performance at college.7
