The position of Financial Controller is responsible for the day to day running of the finance team. Key responsibilities will include:

Managing the finance team with responsibility for:

Timely and accurate reporting of the monthly Profit and Loss, balance sheet and forecasts on Hyperion.
Ensure the accurate and timely production of management accounts, liaising with branch and regional management to obtain buy in
Review and approve management accounts prior to distribution, ensuring that all branches receive appropriate monthly revenues and costs
Ensure all balance sheet reconciliations are prepared and reviewed in accordance with commitment provided to internal audit
Ensure fixed asset register is accurately maintained, introducing new processes where required to do so
Ensure all monitoring and approval controls are in place and being implemented as appropriate
Coordinate the production of the annual budget and quarterly re-forecast
Coordinate the production of the statutory accounts and ensure compliance with internal and external deadlines and disclosure
Ensure a monthly reconciliation of VAT is prepared and that the quarterly VAT and Instrastat returns are accurately prepared and filed in accordance with external deadlines
Overview pricing for new business tenders substantiating projected forecast and evaluating payback
Ensuring profitability of key customers is regularly reviewed and highlighted where below expectations so the business can take action to rectify. This extends to assessment of gains and losses to assist with the company's forecasting
Ensure accurate weekly cash flow forecast submission, understanding and explaining all key variances

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with a proven track record of management in a fast paced environment. Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels is essential. Advanced Excel skills will be a distinct advantage in this role.
