Job Description
The main function of the role is to oversee and manage all aspects of UK finance function and accounting relating to the operations Carey's London business unit.
Responsibilities include:
1) Overall responsibility for all accounting functions including:
- Sales ledger, purchase ledger, nominal ledger, payroll, fixed assets, pricing and billing
- Preparation of quarterly VAT returns ensuring compliance and effective adherence to all HMRC regulations
- Management of year end audit and preparation of annual statutory accounts
- Approval of major quotes and RFPs for customers and events and negotiation of major customer contracts
- Negotiation of major vendor contracts including fleet telecommunications.
2) Financial and operational reporting:
- Daily/weekly/monthly KPIs
- Monthly flash revenue by working day 1
- Monthly P&L and balance sheet by working day 3
- Monthly supporting schedules - lease liabilities, fleet analysis, headcount
- Detailed analysis and understanding of gross margins
- Revenue and profitability analysis
- All Carey International corporate reporting requirements
3) Cash flow management:
- Daily update of annual cash flow forecast
- Prioritise service provider and other vendor payments
- Work closely with Credit Control
- Effectively communicate with General Manager
The Successful Applicant
Carey International is looking for a UK qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) accountant to fill the position of Financial Controller.
You should be an effective communicator at all levels and be comfortable in managing a team. There is huge scope for this role to grow as the business develops.
The senior management team running the London office enjoy a high degree of autonomy and so this role will require someone who is comfortable offering opinions on the strategic direction of the business.
