Responsibility of Accounts Records prior to takeover

Hi there,
I work for a company that was sold in January 2015. When the company was sold I was subsequently employed by the new owner. My question is I still have the accounts records prior to 2015 (7 year rule). Is it my responsibility to keep them, or should the old owner?
