contractor Expenses

Hi please can some one give me there views. I have a client who is a nurse he is the director of his own ltd company and performs his work through this ltd company. He would like to claim travelling expenses from his home (which is his company registered office) and his workplace and he would also like to claim his meals as an expense to the company. I can see from his records that the place he travels too is generally the same however on the odd occasion he does travel to locations slightly further away and his shifts generally are performed through the day and last no more than 6 hours and I therefore feel that these expense claims are not justifiable but cannot find a concise answer. I would therefore appreciate any advise that someone who has experience of contractors could give me.
