Working in a matrix structure the Strategic Planning Manager will report to and partner the UK Finance Manager, CFO Europe and SVP Finance in the US. With this close working relationship, you will be responsible for developing the UK FP&A Function as well as support the business growth plans through accurate and robust planning and analysis. You will assist develop territories including various European countries. Providing modelling and roadmaps that may result in either acquisition or new start-up businesses. You will interface regularly with Executive Management on a number of strategic portfolio decisions and issues and be comfortable working with senior stakeholders.

Job description

- Responsible for the overall financial forecasting
- Create financial models for gas & electricity markets
- Responsible for annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
- Lead optimization of enterprise portfolio and development of multi-year roadmap
- Liaise regularly with Executive management and provide decision support analysis and recommendations relative to various adhoc portfolio questions, formulation of enterprise level performance metrics and C-suite Strategy meetings

Prepare analysis of impact on portfolio operational and financial metrics, and develop conclusions for Executive directed portfolio scenarios relative to:

- Long range strategic outlook and gap identification
- Strategic investments and/or acquisition opportunities, including tactical asset acquisitions.
- Various price, cost structure and other market condition variables
- Capital allocation decisions
- Optimization of current portfolio development plans
- Work closely with CFO, Europe, Head HR Europe, Head of Supply and Legal Counsel to translate certain strategic planning scenarios and assumptions into corporate pro-forma cash flow and net income statements, total shareholder return, EPS projections, debt ratios, etc for deeper financial analysis.
- Work closely with business units in the administration and understanding of resource play type curve assumptions, changes, and impact on the portfolio and strategic plan
- Provide a wide range of financial support to Business units in pursuit of strategies critical to the value accretive growth of the company including direction on the strategic plan for incorporation into business plans.

A qualified accountant/MBA level candidate who will need to demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills, and possess a high level of initiative to achieve corporate goals within challenging deadlines. You will be responsible for developing the strategic portfolio model and analysis relative to various European opportunities. You will have a proven background within an FP&A function and be willing to be "hands on" to build a department in order to support company growth plans. The ideal candidate will have the ability to think strategically, identify connections across the portfolio and ensure synergies. You will understand complex business strategies, ensuring solutions and support the accomplishment of the company's visions and goals. You will thrive in a fast paced and dynamic environment and be looking for a challenging role within a changing business. This role will involve an amount of overseas travel and may suit a candidate with a background in business development, TS or Corporate Finance.
