An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Full Time Administrative Officer (Finance) at East Anglia Reserve Forces and Cadets Association office, located close to Chelmsford City centre, Essex.
We are widely recognised as the most valuable, knowledgeable and authoritative body in support of reserve forces and cadet organisations in East Anglia.
As a public organisation with Crown status we champion our local MOD sponsored youth organisations, sustaining 250+ units and we nurture enduring networks with employers and local authorities, supporting Reserves and Cadets.
We are looking for a highly organised individual with excellent numeracy and literacy skills, computer literate, able to learn new systems quickly and work with minimum supervision. Good communication and inter-personal skills are essential along with a knowledge of accounting procedures, either by holding (or be working towards) a recognised accountancy qualification or equivalent experience.
Range of tasks include ensuring all transactions comply with MOD rules, maintain the cashbook, nominal, sales and purchase ledgers, control and monitor money due to and from external agencies and assist in preparation of management and budgetary information and financial reports and returns.
The successful candidate will be encouraged and supported throughout their training and during any relevant professional studies including the possible funding of AAT training and membership.
This position attracts a current salary of £19,109 pa. and additional benefits include a generous pension scheme, a leave entitlement of 25 days (rising to 30 days after 5 years of service) and free on-site parking.

This vacancy has a probationary period of twelve months and final confirmation of the appointment is dependent upon the satisfactory completion of this probationary period.
Closing date for applications is 1200hrs 10 October 2016. Interviews for selected candidates will be held late October with a view of the successful candidate starting in November.
