    Congratulations, BeccaLou.

Getting chartered status is an amazing achievement. Well done.

I've only done 2 ATT exams (business tax and personal tax) so still have 3 exams/assessments left for ATT.

Do you have any advice/tips for me re: doing CTA?

How big is the jump between ATT to CTA if you don't mind me asking?

How long did it take for you do study for each exam and do the whole qualification?

I hope you get time to celebrate in between doing all your tax returns!

    Thank you.

Well done on your two ATT exams so far, they are really difficult.

Advice: Don't under estimate the Law e-assessment!

ATT to CTA is quite a big jump. The exams are much harder, in my opinion.

I passed the AW paper in the May 15 sitting, one of the ADV in May 16 and the final ADV and APP in Nov 16. So about two years start to finish.

The exams are held at the same time as the ATT ones.

    Good luck. :)

Can't believe you passed 3 CTA exams in 1 year- very impressive.

Do you need to know much IHT for the ADV and APP papers (Individuals and OMB's)?

Can you start using the CTA letters after your name now?

Also, how long did it take for you to do law and ethics?

Will you still be visiting the AAT forums in the future now you have finished studying?

For the OMB Application you need to know everything to some degree. Obviously the main OMB syllabus, but then VAT, IHT, Corp Tax etc.. it can, and does, all come up.

I did ethics when there wasn't a manual for it, you had to search the ATT site for handbooks and guides and print them all off and read them. It wasn't too difficult though.

Law...... took me far too many attempts to pass that one. Take the exam as soon as possible after reading the text, it is an information retention test!

    I'll be here :)

I don't think I have to do awareness because the CIOT have created a new ATT-CTA tax pathway. So I'm worried I'm going to struggle with OMB APP because I wouldn't have done AWA. Do you think I should do AWA voluntarily? Or does the OMB APP materials cover the VAT, IHT, CT, etc?

What have your employer's made of you passing CTA? Have you got a promotion?
