These are exciting times for us at Walk the Plank as we enter our 25th year in outdoor arts. We’ve worked locally, regionally, nationally and internationally and, along the way, have picked up some awards.
Producing such a rich array of work also means that we have to keep a tight hold on our finances which is why our Head of Finance plays such an important behind the scenes role.
So, if you’re looking for a finance role in an organisation slightly different from others you may have worked at, Walk the Plank will provide you with an interesting mix of professional challenges. As a registered charity, part funded by Arts Council England, along with a separate pyrotechnics trading company, you’ll be applying your accountancy skills to a range of different financial reporting arenas, as well as helping us oversee the financial stewardship of our £1m+ capital build project for our new outdoor arts creative hub in Salford, which opens this summer.
Your role is nothing short of essential in ensuring that we control and manage our income and expenditure, and provide timely reporting to our senior management team, board and other stakeholders. ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (perhaps part-qualified), you’ll be SAGE Line 50 literate to a high technical standard and an accomplished MS Office user with at least four years’ relevant experience.
Apart from providing us with a firm financial foundation that will enable us to continue delivering amazing outdoor arts productions, you’ll be joining a family of like-minded people who love what they do. And from summer 2017, we’ll be doing all this from our exciting new HQ in Salford.
The other great thing about this role is the flexible working hours which can be tailored to suit your work-life balance.
