can i reinstate a deleted reconciled entry on sage 50 if i have a note of the transaction number?

nope, hence why you should be very vey cautious of deleting. In fact I would say - if its been VAT and/or Bank reconciled NEVER delete it. You will need to find another way - cannot advise as dont know what the trans was in the first place so perhaps pop some more info on0
