Study materials? How did you prepare for L4 Synoptic?

Hello, I had many exemptions so I only sat 3 AAT exams and am now on the last final step. I must prepare myself for the Synoptic but only have completed 3 units from AAT so do not have all the study materials. I recently purchased Kaplan AAT synoptic assesment book but found it too confusing. Please, advise how did you prepare and what would you advise in my case?
