AAT and acca at the same time ?

Hi guys
A little bit of background information I have been working in admin for the last 3 years and for the last 9 months I have been studying AAT level 2 in the evenings I had always been interested in accounts but wasn't sure if I would be capable of it anyways I started it and have completed it and really enjoyed it . I have been looking at accounting jobs and have a new job starting in 4 weeks time as a finance assistant ( 2 year contract ) where they will train me and support my level 3 and 4 costs . However I have been reading about acca and obviously it may be more favourable , however my new employer only supports the study if it is AAT . Therefore I have been thinking about doing acca alongside AAT level 3 is this impossible ? I am nearly 27 and feel I am running out of time as I am aware acca takes 3 years to study . Can anyone offer advice ?

Sorry just because I'm nearly 27 just the worry of starting a family etc ! Thanks for the advice
