PPE - Measurement after Initial Recognition

There two choices allowed when measuring Property, Plant and Equipment (PPE) after initial recognition which are the cost model or the revaluation model. Has anyone come across or had a practical experience of which type of PPE are suitable for each of the allowed models? If yes, can you discuss which type of PPE is suitable for which model.
