Outstanding debt collected through PAYE entered on tax software but no records on HMRC systems

Just called HMRC as the tax position of one of my client on the HMRC dashboard was different to the one filed through TaxCalc.
My client had an outstanding debt collected through his 2016-17 tax code which I included on his return (box 9 of the SA100). The HMRC agent couldn't see it on her copy and mentioned it was probably a glitch on their system.
Glad I checked and have it changed before they issue a refund of a few thousand pounds to the client!
