Are you a motivated Accounts Assistant looking to progress your experience in a forward-thinking, technology business with a great work-life balance in Cornwall? Would you like to gain experience covering a wide variety of tax and corporate matters?
This is an outstanding opportunity for a talented accountant with a keen interest in finance who wants to get in at the beginning of a ground-breaking regular payment solution within FinTech.
The business is to recruit an experienced Accounts Assistant or newly qualified AAT accountant to join their Central Liskeard office. Your role will include management accounting, bookkeeping, VAT returns, forecast and payroll initially covering the main duties of the Financial Controller, who will be on maternity leave, and then work alongside her on a permanent basis on her return. The company is small but growing which means you will be exposed to a wide variety of experience from management accounts, payroll, VAT, reporting and analysis to internal controls, external audit and the day to day running of the company ledgers.
You will have influence and impact from day one, along with working on a big idea that has the potential to change the regular payments space forever!
The successful candidate:
- AAT Level 4 qualified (AAT Level 2 & 3 considered)
- Have at least 2 years UK experience in industry
- IT/Excel competent and ideally have Xero accounts experience
- Have payroll and VAT return experience
- Management Accounts & Forecasting experience
- A keen interest in both finance and technology
- Strong work ethic, articulate, numerate, organised, and team-oriented with a strong sense of accountability and high level of attention to detail
- Self-starter equally comfortable working autonomously or under direction
