Work experience in East Sussex (Brighton and Hove)

Hi, I have recently qualified as accounts technician and am looking for an accountant or bookkeeper in the Brighton and Hove area who would give me the opportunity to gain some more in depth experience. I would love to work in an accounts practice (as either accounts assistant or bookkeeper), but everybody is looking for someone who has worked in a practice before :-( I currently work as a purchase ledger clerk at a school, so don’t do any VAT returns. VAT returns is one of the areas I need experience in. I know Sage 50 and FMS (our schools financial management system), do bank reconciliation, process and code invoices, deal with all matters relating to purchase ledger. I know this is all very basic. I put in a lot of money and time into my qualification, so don’t want to give up easily. I am also registered self employed and I am an AAT licensed bookkeeper. I would be happy to either take on work on a self employed basis or would also consider a zero hour contract.

Any advice would be highly appreciated!
