HMRC Online Services replaced Government Gateway Portal query
HMRC says when you register a company for any tax, you are automatically given an HMRC online account with ID and password, activated by a code sent by post within 7 days. This replaces the Government Gateway portal of pre-March 2019.
With the GG portal, both the company owner / director and the accountant could have their own separate GG login. This was useful for small businesses submitting CIS or VAT returns via Xero themselves, whilst the accountants had their own access to the HMRC account for trouble shooting.
My question is: with the new set up, will there only be one login and password given out to whoever originally registers the company for tax?
