What is my next step?

Hi,

I've nearly completed my AAT lv 4 and working as a finance assistant, mostly doing accounts payable stuff (invoice processing etc). All my work experience is industry, so I would prefer to carry on in industry or government/3rd sector.

What sort of jobs should I be applying for next step from finance assistant?

Did you have a chance to speak with your senior colleagues?
Are you aware of Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy?

If you'd prefer to go into the government/public sector, CIPFA is a really good choice as has already been recommended.

However if you're considering staying in industry, I would suggest perhaps ACCA or CIMA may be a better fit for you.
